Acknowledgement of Country

Relative Creative acknowledge that Jellurgal (Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast), where we live and work, is on the unceded sovereign lands of the Yugambeh speaking peoples, part of the Bundjalung Nation. We pay our respects to local Elders and the ancestors. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal people from other regions as well as Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander peoples who now live in the local area and have made an important contribution to the community.

Relative Creative’s home is a special place, Burleigh Headland, called Jellurgal in Yugambeh. The rock formations at the top of Jellurgal are the fingers of Jabreen, who laid down to rest after creating this place. Jellurgal (Burleigh Heads) and Tallebudgera were also crucial places for bush food harvesting, hunting, fishing and social gatherings.

Relative Creative is proudly informed by being on Country here at Jellurgal, and by our own founders’ Gamilaroi Aboriginal heritage. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
