Background

Tristan maintains an ongoing relationshiop with Abedian School of Architecture, Bond University. He is a studio mentor for Masters strudents, delivers public lectures and develops curriculum content.

Opportunity for Futures

Key to this engagement is exporing designing with Country. These are significant considerations as we seek to move from western perspective of country as resource to acknowledging and practicing First Nations-led care for Country in our approach to design, whether that be of systems, services, places, things or otherwise.

Approach

The approach Tristan took to this work was to steward, prompt, provoke and mentor students through notions of designing with Country and Indigenous Knowledge systems in the context of its relationship, or not, with western modernity, in understanding place, space and the built environment.
