Futures Forum, reshaping the culture of business.

Futures Forum

What an absolute privilege it was to have attended the IBA Futures Forum on Worimi Country in Newcastle. I was so grateful to be surrounded by over 40 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are already making their mark on the economic landscape of our country. It was no easy feat to imagine and prepare for what the next 50 years of Indigenous business and industry might look like but I’ve always liked a challenge. A big thank you to Indigenous Business Australia and Relative Creative for giving us this opportunity.

Since 2018 Relative Creative has worked closely with Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) to design and deliver the Future Forum: A 50-year vision for Reshaping the Culture of Business.

Futures Forum 2020

Due to COVID-19 the 2020 Futures Forum events were held online, to support this delivery and the continued engagement of participants Relative Creative have designed an updated Futures Forum website and a series of online, interactive workshops making use of a variety of online tools.

Futures Forum 2019

Designed to engage with 40 of Australia’s top-youth business minds the Futures Forum took participants on a journey of bringing cultural principles from the past into the future and establishing long-term innovative ideas around connecting culture, business, technology and futures in meaningful and sustainable ways.

In the first Futures Forum, delivered over four days on Worimi country (Murrook Cultural Centre, Williamstown, NSW) we used our unique design process to unpack with participants what sorts of innovative business futures Indigenous Australia could have and to start creating their own visions for an Indigenous Business Model. The outcomes from this week have been inspiring.

Relative Creatives contribution to this project included:

  • Full visual identity design
  • Promotional video (watch below)
  • Workshop design
  • Collateral for workshop including maps and knowledge cards
  • Week long lead facilitation of event

Participants went on a journey of bringing cultural principles from the past into the future and establishing long-term innovative ideas around connecting culture, business, technology and futures in meaningful and sustainable ways.
