Background

In 2020 amid a rapidly shifting work environment caused by COVID restrictions at home and around the world, it became clear to us that we needed to establish appropriate and culturally safe ways to engage with communities and stakeholders for a wide variety of projects. We reviewed many available softwares and considered how approaches used in-person could be adapted to suit the online environment. Recognising our work in this space the Department of Employment, Skills and Education engaged us to produce an online Stakeholder Engagement Training for their team.

Opportunity for futures

This process involved the design of an extensive Teams suite of interactive PowerPoint slides and a Sharepoint space, all paired with an interactive guidebook. The interactive guidebook was a carefully curated work capturing many of our learnings as well as developing best-practice in an easily digestible and applicable format.
We tapped into our online teaching and working experience to pass on skills to DESE as they adapted to remote stakeholder engagements.
